I have just d.loaded the CloneDVD2. I am running into an error trying to write to the blank DVD. The error message is: A write error has occurred, probably caused by bad media. Please replace media and try again. WriteDVD 10 11 W2 I tried this twice w/ two different DVDs, both HP and never had trouble w/ this DVD type ever. I have never used CloneDVD2, only DVDShrink and Decrypter. But this is a new machine and I do not have a indepth grasp of the software yet. Let me clarify. On my laptop I use DVDShrink and Decrypter and it works on 99% of all DVDs, no issues. But when I installed DVDShrink and tried to copy the message popped up that I need Nero. Is this the case? Because I do not use Nero on my laptop, but it is there. Can anyone lend a hand? Doug
@DougStrou The Clone error is usually exactly what it means - bad media - or not compatible w/ your drive & firmware. HP is not one of the better brands if that's the blanks you are using. Better would be Verbatim or made in Japan Fuji,Sony or Maxell. Shrink will also autoburn w/ DVD decrypter - just pick this option 'burn iso w/ dvd decrypter' (something like that) after you click back up under target device. If Nero is installed on the laptop shrink should recognize this and show your drive as an option under target device.
Thanks Binkie7, Media: It may be incompatability.... type, that is. I had not consider that, but your post brought this to mind. Also, thanks for the low-down on the programs. Cheers, Doug
