I am an extreme newbie so please bear with me while I learn. I am using DVDSanta to convert my AVI. files. Everything went fine no problems. The movie plays just fine on my computer. The problem comes when I go to play it in my DVD player. There is no picture, but there is sound. If anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong and how to fix it I would greatly appreciate it. I have tried searches to find other threads related to this topic, but found only one that concerned "HAVE PICTURE, BUT NO SOUND". Kind Regards, Treca
hello edit this bit...just re-read your post make sure you havent done something stupid like setting up the cables wrong on the back of the tv,and selecting the correct output on the menu screen!! read this for a bit more info http://www.answerbag.com/q_view.php/10215 cheers!!
LOL..Yep, I made sure that the DVD player was connected correctly. Every "regular" DVD that I have plays just fine. This is what the dvdsanta website told me that I need to get if I didn't have it for this to work for me: How to Convert and Burn Other Video Formats into DVD Movies with dvdSanta. Before You Start... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- dvdSanta supports almost all kinds of video formats, such as AVI, DivX, WMV, ASF, MPG, VOB.... To ensure that dvdSanta can burn your most up-to-date video files onto DVD. You need to have some latest audio and video codecs installed on your PC. If you do have all the codecs you need on your PC, skip this part and read Step 1. 1) Install latest Microsoft DirectX 9. 2) Install latest Microsoft Windows Media 9. 3) In order to convert MPEG-2 Videos such as DVD videos, install this Free MPEG-2 decoder: MpegDecoder012.msi (255Kb). 4) Install K-Lite codecs if you don't have DivX(or Xvid) codecs installed on your PC. I just don't know what I'm missing here... Are these software downloads correct? If they are is there an easier way to find out why the picture is not coming up? By the way, thanks for responding to my pitiful thread
hello, well if the avi plays on the pc then you shouldnt need any extra codecs if the resulting conversion plays on the pc after using dvd santa, then its a problem with the set up you have
