    Hello All,
I have a Sony DVD RW DRU-710 A (REVBYO1)the manufactured date on the side is Dec 04. I have always used DVD-r's to copy a movie. I was advised to go to DVD+r"s . My problem is that I cannot get it to write on them. I use both ANYDVD & CLONEDVD. Why can't I write with the DVD+"S ??

Do you get an error? Or what happens?
Could be the brand of discs your using - which ones are you using?
Your drive supports both formats and also booktyping. Booktyping the +r's to dvd-rom makes the discs more compatible w/ players.

Your drives firmware can use an update also. The latest is BYX5.
This may help. Here's a link:

What I get is a popup on clonedvd after it has copied the original dvd on computer, and begins to write it to the blank dvd that says "install a recordable media" Of which I have already done, it is like it does not recognize the dvd+r that I have in there.
I am using Officemax 8x, which I was told is made by HP. I will upgrade the firmware. thanks

I wasn't aware HP manufactured any of it's own media.
Download DVD Identifier and install. (free)
Put a DVD in the burner.
With DVD Identifier open click the Identify box.
Post the info you get in the box to the left of Identify here.
