My PC has an FSB of 1080 right now at 2.7 Gigz CPU I have an Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego I heard FSB should always be less than 1000, so should I lower my FSB Mutliplier? Its at 2x right now.
You heard wrong, why would you want your FSB lower? Keep it as it is, you're running an FX-55 spec CPU there so I wouldn't argue.
thats good to hear. Everything seems fine and dandy, the only thing is sometimes certain programs seem to hog resources. Asus Probe will hit 100% CPU for 15 seconds than taper down. Also I left IE Explorer on a websiet to come back a few hours later seeing it using 100% CPU for about 2 hours. The cool thing was that my max CPU temp apparently at this OC setting is 49C. Is this because of instability?
Yea your probably right.... Now heres the question. Since my FSB Now is at 1080 and the HTT Multplier is only at 2x, should I raise it? 3x? 4x? 5x? I get too much conflicting reports that with a socket 939 (what I have) FSB past 1000 is bad. Also sorry 1 more question. With RAM Timings I've read that 2T settings are bad for AMD 64 processors. Is there any truth to it?
1T may be slightly better, but all this "bad" isn't strictly true. While you may get ever so slightly better settings by fiddling with them, they aren't "bad" by any stretch of the imagination.
You're welcome, Hyper transport and all that are a bit new to me since I've yet to board the 64-bit bandwagon. Should be an experience though. Love the sig btw.
Ok sorry for the stupid question...but is it better to have higher FSB or Lower FSB....I am guessing higher but i am not sure...LOL
