I would like to learn to convert *.avi films to a VCD format then group 3 of these together and burn them on a DVD with a menu that permits me to play them on a comercial Sharp DVD/VCD player.

Where can I find a tutorial to perform this.

    Thanks

Well I can solve part of your problem, use Win AVI Video Converter to convert your files. The only problem is that it is not free!!!

I'm not sure I understand what you mean? If the files are AVI files and you want to end up with them on a playable DVD with a menu, why do you want to convert them to a VCD format? Why not just make the AVI files DVD compliant and burn them to a DVD with a menu.

You can import the files into NeroVision, make a menu and submenus and burn to DVD.

    Or

You can use ConvertXToDVD and then use NeroVision or TMPGEnc Author to make menu(s) and then burn.

Once again I may not be understanding what you want to do.
