I have an ATi 8500LE128
I am running 2 monitors.
I want to work on one and have DVD running on the other.
This is where problems start.
Power DVD works fine on Mon1 but is black on Mon2.
Installed ATI multimedia centre after reading their website. Their standard player wont drag to monitor2 plus it seems to conflict with my SBlive drivers and I get no sound. You can get an upgrade which overcomes this problem but you need a valid CD number and my card is not made by ATI but by a third party so the CD has no number. Hurrah!
Have written to ATi but they are as helpful as, well, I needn't go on really !
Anyone got any ideas?
XP Pro, yadda yadda, loads o'RAM etc

Just of interest, I´m about to buy a R8500LE 128 DDR myself. What manufacturer?

The one I have is made by Sapphire. A chinese company I think. The card is good. Not quite GF4 but it cost me £130 so work it out for yourself :)
Sapphire support is a lot better than ATi which suck. With ATi you fill out an online form then they send you an automated reply telling you nothing and say if you still need help fill out this form and link you to the form you already filled. V. stressful.
Some nice person sent me a CD number btw so I dont need anymore hep, cheers

Well you solved the problem yourself, still a sidenote: I´ve heard thet you need Sapphires own drivers, the standard ATI ones won´t work.

running ATi drivers atm, with the exception of the above issue all has been fine. Had a problem when I installed it as XP and DX wouldn't recognise it as a DX8 compatible card but after a full XP reinstall all is peachy :)

I won´t hold you responsible. I postponed my graphics card upgrade, replacing my processor instead.

Wish I could!
Due to desk space I went back to one monitor. Never found a CD number.
Sorry :(

"IF" it arrives hahaha :D
Cheers. As I say, I don't really need it now but it would be nice to keep by in case.
