I was looking at getting one of the Mac Book Pro's and was wondering if the upgrade from 512mb ram to 1GB ram was really worth the $90? If not would it be more worth it to spend the $90 to upgrade the hdd space from 80GB to 100GB?

IMO... I'd go with the ram.

The best thing would be to get both upgrades. The ram AND the hardrive space. But, if you have to chose, it depends mainly on what type of work you do.

    [bold]Ram...[/bold]
With an upgrade of ram, you'll see a differenence in almost every app that you could possibly work in. Recently, I upgraded from 1 gig of ram to 2 gigs of ram. This really improved the performance of my machine, especially in graphics or video applications like PShop, iMovie, Final Cut, and others. Everyone could always use an upgrade of ram, but the main people who are goiing to see big differences are the ones who work in these type of apps.

    [bold]Hardrive Space...[/bold]
On the other hand, if you don't do much of the above types of activities on your computer, but do download lots of pics, music, etc, then I'd say go with the hardrive space. But, I would suggest another option of getting an external hardrive or burning things off your hardrive onto DVDs to give you more space, and then going for the ram.
