i also cant ftp from pc to xbox

I have read guides etc to connect pc to xbox but it seems impossible
i have a chipped xbox running evolution x
crossover cable running straight from pc to xbox no router
pc set to
pc ip :192.168.1.100
xbox ip :192.165.1.103 for some reason it wont stay at 192.165.1.105
both subnet masks to 255.255.255.0
both gateways to 192.168.0.1

if anyone has any ideas it would be great.

try this

On pc:
ip 192.168.1.100
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway is blank
DNS is blank

On xbox set "STATIC"
ip 192.168.1.101
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.100
DNS is blank


Use flashfxp

 

i have turned my firewall off
avg antivirus off
used your connection details but it still wont connect

 

what message from flashfxp do you have?
what ip state on evox dash?

 

it says
(L)connecting to 192.168.1.101->ip=192.168.1.101 port=21(attempt#1)
(L)connection failed(connection timed out)
(L)dalaying for 120secs before reconnect

 

reboot xbox and watch the ip on Evox dash to see if it shows 192.168.1.101

 

no when i look in settings it has changed to 192.168.0.3

 

you have to change it to "static" NOT DHCP. then change the ip address and save. then reboot => settings. then check ip again.

 

right in the settings menu it says
use static ip yes
how can i tell if it is dhcp it doesnt say that on the screen.
so why has my ip changed
by the way i have never connected my pc to an xbox before or to an other pc do i need to leave the internet on to do it.

 

connect xbox to pc by using crossover cable
Reboot xbox and tell me the ip, subnet, gateway, dns on xbox.

 

in blue writing at the top which i think is my pc i.p it says
192.168.0.3
also near the botoom in white writing which i think is my xbox i.p it says the same
192.168.0.3

if i alter the white ip adress and come out of settings then back into the settings menu it returns to 192.168.0.3

 

On pc change IP to 192.168.0.10

 

set on PC ip as above. then use flashfxp to connect

 

what is xbox ip, subnet, gateway, dns now?
dont reboot xbox.

 

sorry m8 i have connected with cross over cable from xbox to pc
on the xbox it says
ip is i92.168.0.3 at the top and bottom of the screen
subnetmask is 255.255.255.0
default gateway is 192.168.0.1


i hope this is the right info i dont mean to be dumb but it dont come easy to me.

ok Change IP on PC to 192.168.0.1
then use flashfxp to connect
Do not reboot xbox.

PC
ip 192.168.0.1
subnet 255.255.255.0

Xbox 192.168.0.3
gateway 192.168.0.1
subnet 255.255.255.0
