Need help with ram

    I have 2 gigs of ram in my PC. When I first got the 2nd gig my free ram was always around 1500mb-1600mb range. But just recently my free ram is REALLY low goes around 800mb-1000mb. But it has gotten as low at 300 before. I restarted trying to cycle free up some ram but it's just not happening. Is there anything I can do to free up my ram? Thanks

    how long ago did you get the ram ?
    if you have installed more software it will use more ram
    if you have got more in your startup it will use more
    try 'msconfig' and disable all and see if it uses less

    having said that the ram is there to be used
    so at least your getting your monies worth
    and 800 free is still lots to play with

    I do have a lot of games in my PC. But i didn't think they will take up RAM until they are running.

    I just have Norton on my Startup.

    Should I take some games out?
