Well I just bought a 50 pack of "16X Verbatim DVD+R" for $14.99 at BestBuy and just ordered my "BenQ Dvd Burner #DW1650 BK" off of NewEgg for a total out the door price of $43.49.

I can't wait for the burner to arrive so I can try it out. May need help though with setting it up right so bear with me if I ask guys. Later.

Excellent choice of Burners ... The Verbatim discs are very good, also ... however, the BenQ drives like Taiyo Yuden discs a little more ...
Make sure to burn those Verbatim discs at no less than 8x ... BenQ drives love to burn fast

You will want to download QSuite which is an excellent utility package which enables your drive to booktype +R discs to DVD-ROM
You can get it here:  http://support.benq.com/front/BenqMain.asp?MenuHead=128&ShowType=program&FileURL=service/driverlist.asp&Dataid=18368&downloadclass=Software&product=3731&langu=null&ops=null&GenMenu=&RootId=undefined

You may need to update your firmware if it's older than BCDC .. it may be marked on the top of your drive .. if not, many programs can determine it ... if you need to know, ask
    Firmware page is here:  http://support.benq.com/front/BenqMain.asp?MenuHead=128&ShowType=program&FileURL=service/driverlist.asp&Dataid=21217&downloadclass=Driver&product=3731&langu=null&ops=null&GenMenu=&RootId=undefined

Thank you Catfreak! Yeah, the people here know their stuff, I can tell you that much! At least a lot of the long time members as I can see.

I'll download the QSuite right now and save it, as for the firmware I think I'll wait until I actually get the drive and install it to see what it's equipped with. I'll probably install it the same day it gets here after I get home from work....lol

    As catfreak said
Agreed, other media doesnt work as well at higher burn speeds but a DVD+R at 8x is about 8-9 minutes on my machine and quality is great.
Booktype those +R discs to DVD-ROM with Q-suite and you will kick your own rear end for not doing it sooner.

Those are pretty darn good man! I'm going to check one of the discs I burned right now.

What is SB and WOPC enabled mean?
