Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums and I just wanted to get some advice on which wire I should get for my HDTV. Well I was just at PC Richard & Son and I bought a 40" Samsung HDTV and this guy told me to get the Monster 400 to HDMI wire since I was planning on getting a HDTV Cable box not sattalite. I said ok how much is it and he said $120. Is it worth getting or can I get something better for a cheaper price.

First make sure your cable box has an HDMI output. For example, the Motorola DCT6412 from Comcast (and other cable companies) has a DVI output instad of HDMI:

If you do need an HDMI cable put away your $120 and try this on for size:

If you need to connect a DVI device to the HDMI input of your TV here's what you need:

Well I guess i'll just get the HDMI cable because I have 2 slots that say on them HDMI/DVI and then it says 1 and 2 for each slot. And when I do order one the wire where do I plug the other one because I know one obviously goes in the HDMI/DVI slot but where does the other, cable box? Oh btw, I hooked up my cable box to my dvd player to my HDTV and its working ok but the picture quality is horrible even when I go to the HD channels it's all blurry and liney. I have tried directly from my cable box (its an HD cable box)But it's still all blurry. Is this because I need that wire?

HDMI is all you need. I like Acoustic Reasearch cables personally. They give you more bang for your buck.

How did you hook up your cable box to the DVD player?
How did you hook up the DVD player to the HDTV?
How did you hook up the cable box to the HDTV?
What is your cable company and what brand/model cable box do you have?
