I'm new to this. here it is, it isn't strictly dvd-r related, but i couldnt find where else to post. My hard drive is FAT32, I bought an external HD, I formatted my external HD to NTFS, I copied my 4.7GB Winrar file over to external HD. I extracted the 4.7GB file inside the external HD, and it does the same problem as when on my FAT32 HD, It says: 'There is not enough space on the disk. !Write error: only NTFS file system supports files larger than 4 GB' So why is this? Is it still because my main Hard Drive is interfering? please please help me if you can, thank you.
the way i understand it fat32 cant see ntfs.u might want to reformatt the external hdd to fat32. by the way what app r u using to do the movie after u unrar the file?
Thanks, I seemed to have resolved it. As I said, I reformated my externalHD to NTFS from the original FAT32. What I did, I downloaded a fresh Winrar to my ext-HD, then I installed it to my ext-HD into a folder I created. I then chose to extract the file to a specific location in the ext-HD, and it worked. And I used Alcohol 120% to burn the extracted 4.5GB ISO file to DVD. It would seem you don't need to format your main internal FAT32 HD if you have an external HD. As long as you install and extract entirely into that external hard drive. Thanks again, now I know this site, I'll no doubt be bake with more questions etc.
