hi, .. can you not just burn regular mpegs, and avi files to a dvd+r without changing it in any way. cause i was looking for 800 mb cd-rs but the guy in future shop said to use dvd+r,.. cause tehy hold 4.7gig on each disk and would still work.. when i go into easy cd creator though, at the bottom of the screen, it still thinks its a regular cd-r.. i think this is the main problem.. someone please help.. thank you.

i have two cd rom drives.. one just a regular cd rom.. the other is a dvd player drive.. all i wana do is put mpegs on the dvd+r cds i just bought, recording it using easy cd creator,.. so i can play it on my puter in (windows media player) but when i go into easy cd creator, its not recognizing the disks to be more then regualr size cd-r disks.

    tokaiboy,

Is your DVD rom a burner? It sounds like you do not have a DVD burner.

Yea, it sounds to me like you dont have a DVD burner, just a CD-R burner and a DVD player. You cannot burn on to DVD's if your drive doesn't say "DVD Re-writable on it." If you just want to watch the movies on your computer then just open them from your hard drive and watch them.

ya its just a dvd player in my computer... so theres no way i can just put a dvd+r into a regualar cd drive, and burn 4 gig or whatever the dvd+r holds, using easy cd creator.. i thought i could still do that... what about if i zip them up.. would that work, or would that just corrupt the files.

    No.

If it is a CD-RW (Compact Disc Re-Writable) drive (you can make CD's) then you can ONLY burn to Compact Disc type Media (it says Compact Disc Recordable on it)

To burn to a DVD+/-R or RW you need to have a DVD Burner.

The quality will be terrible when you put them onto CD-RW. It may be an idea 2 get some more memory and just store them on your HDD if you dont intend to watch them on a standalone DVD player.
