hi guys, left my pc on over night - like many nights before dwloading stuff, woke up one morning to find the blue screen of death ? now when i try and turn on my pc i get beeping noise, and a sound like my HD is clicking? i also get this error

"disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter"
is there somewhere online i can get/dwload a boot disk?
what is the system disk ?

also i've noticed that sometimes when booting it doesnt find my primary drive (Hard Drive) which i then locate through bios !!!

    HELP!!!!!

Sound like your boot.ini is corrupted. There is a way to repair it.

If it's a hard drive failure, then there isn't much that can be done.

Do you have your Windows CD? Do you know how to use the Recovery Console?

A boot disk (unless created for your system) will only get you to a certain point. After that it isn't of much use.

The system disc is your Windows disc.

if the bios is sometimes not seeing the hd than the drive might be going bye bye. happened with a customer yesterday as her hd did not show up on 1 of the boots. replaced the hd & copied her info off the old hd onto new hd.

i'm not sure if my hd is gone as after i have recovered it through the bios and restart, it does register it upon loading eg primary drive? until it gets to the error message about disk boot failure and system disk? but i dont really know too much about this? i did think that my hd has given up on itself ? its a western digital 30g hd about 5-6 yrs old - its kinda funny i have a old 16yo intel pentium 166cpu 32mb-ram pc west digital 4.2 gig hd and had no prob with it - inserted a west digital 18g hd for my mp3 and run it all day night playing music to piss next door off - had not a prob with that - but it has chewed up about 2-3 video cards over time for whatever reason?

How many beeps are you getting on start up?

Do you need directions for the Recovery Console? Let me know.
