gonna start buidling knew gaming pc soon need some advice on some good video cards i here the 7900 gtx is a great one but i havent seen it in action i wanted something to look graphics wise like a xbox 360 if thats possible also i here alot about SLi and crossfire but never really looked into always had 1 video , what is SLi is it two cards perfoming as one ?
Sli is Nvidias version of combining 2 videos together to increase the power. Crossfire is ATI version. Which ever you go for, the mobo will only support either SLi or Crossfire. If you use one card only then it doesn't matter, but if you plan to use 2 together make sure you get the right board. The 7900GTX is about as good as it gets in video cards, but the price is very high as the supply is crap (in UK). I haven't played on the 360 but I know someone who has both a 360 and 2x7800GTs in SLi and he says they're almost as good as each other, slightly better on the PC though. I presume the single 7900GTX will compare well to the 7800GTs in SLi but you'll need to look for some comparisons. If you go down the Crossfire route, you need to be aware that they currently use a master slave configuration of cards, so be careful what you buy.
