Why do I keep getting this Focus/ Tracking Error when trying to burn a movie? I have successfully done many back-ups and did one just last night and tried this morning and all i get are failed burns with a Focus/Tracking Error. What can i do to stop this? Im using Nero to burn and Verbatim discs have tried the slowest speed possible and still the errors.

It sounds like a hardware problem.

What is the brand and model of your burner?
Does it have the latest firmware version?
Do you get the same error burning with DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn?
Do you have a RW DVD to use for testing?

Its a very old drive HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4020B. I couldnt find any firmware for it but its been awile since I updated that. If anybody could show me where to find the firmware i would appreciate it. I'll try with DVDdecrypter now to see what happens.

I was able to successfully complete a iso burn with DVD Decrypter before the firmware update. Should I continue with the firmware update or is this a nero problem?

If DVD Decrypter works, then it sounds like a Nero problem.

    Uninstall Nero.
Use the Nero Clean Tool from the Nero website.
Reinstall Nero omitting InCD (it can mess things up).
Be sure you have the most recent version.

It never hurts to have the most up to date firmware though.
