    Hi guys,

I currently have to 250gb ATA Hard drives installed on my system...can't install any more IDE hard drives obviously...

Is it, however, possible to install a S-ATA hard drive, without having to remove either of the IDE hard drives?

    Cheers,
    Blighter

Along with ddp's advice, if the board doesn't support SATA natively (onboard SATA connectors) you still have a choice to run either. You can purchase as ddp suggested, an SATA or PATA PCI controller board.

I'm running a pair of each on my Amd system....no problems at all!

    Best of luck!

Ok cool. I know my motherboard supports S-ATA drives so should be alright. I just didn't know if i was able to have 2 IDE drives and and S-ATA drive at the same time. I thought there might have been a problem with the whole master/slave thing, seeing as how S-ATA drives don't need this. Looks like i'm gonna be upgrading from 500gb to 750gb then!
