Infrared Connection Question

    I have a question and I hope that someone here knows how to help? I have DSL with a wireless router (gateway) I have a laptop that is a Dell Latitude 610C that has a built in infrared ( I dont see it in my hardware devices though???) How can I get the device to show up and get it setup where I can go wireless with what I have? Thanks in advice.
