Does your standalone DVD player play them? I ask because I am trying to back up all of my CD's to DVD in wave format.

While all support the PCM format very few will read PCM data inside a WAV container. I would consult the owners manual or put some waves on a cheap CD-R/RW and see if your player can play them.

I'm going to try them on a DVD+R-RW and hope it does fine.

I've actually already done this with both mp3 and wav formats respectively, on dvd+r and did playback on standalone and pc dvd players respectively. Worked just fine! Of course, because it's dvd it won't play in your car's cd player or your standalone cd player. If you've gotta dvd player in your vehicle you're set!
