okay which of these two boards are better???? ASUS A8N5X ATX AMD Motherboard ASUS A8N-SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard I personally was thinking of using the A8N-SLI but am not sure which of thee 2 is best
SLI is good if you plan on using 2 video cards. The question I have is when do you plan to do the new build? AMD will be releasing their new AM2 (940 pin) processors soon. These will be able to use DDR2 ram.
i plan on starting within the next month or two. I didn't realize they were releasing a new chip. do you know any more about it r the boards??? And do you know if i can still use my old ddr in those boards?
Not really that much, unfortunately. AM2 will be able to run DDR2 memory but the increase is not all that significant from the S939. Go to www.AnandTech.com and on the first page (you'll have to scroll and search)you'll see what I am talking about. Seriously, if you can hold off do so. By the way, unless you are planning on spending the money on 2 video cards SLI is a waste of money; many say it is a waste because the increase you get in performance isn't worth the cost.
ok so the A8N5X is the best way to go then right. is the performance the same with both boards?? and are there any differences?? other than the 2 vid cards
Go to NewEgg.com and search for both of them and read the reviews. Plus they will give you many of the mobo specs. EPoX 9NPA+Ultra is a very goos board to consider.
does it use the same size chip??? cause all i really need is a good board that can allow me to run nero to create my dvds with out it being so sensitive and also for backing up and some gaming
