The problem is i bought a linkys router to connect it up with my pc and a playstation 2,and for some reason i cannt get the router to stay connected with the pc,it'l connect for a minute then comes up saying wire unplugged.Its really annoying as it wont stay connected for more than a few minutes,i thought mite be spyware but ran sbybot search and destroy and deleted the stuff that came up and still doesnt work!!Hopefully someone can help.Thanks
First thing I would do is use a different cable to hook up your PC. Could be a bad cable. Also, switch which port you are using on the router. Maybe a bad port. Once the cable and port are determined to be good, then I would move on to the NIC. I would relocate it to another PCI slot (if its non-integrated) and try again. I would most definately update the drivers for your NIC as well. Lastly, I would run a full virus scan (in safe mode), along with a Spybot and Ad Aware scan. Could be a bug, too..... Good luck ~Rich
