Hi. Here's my problem. I have a DivX certified DVD player, ie. a 'Real' DVD player supporting DivX format. Connected to the TV. I tried to put a .srt subtitle on the DVD named the same as the DivX .AVI file. It do work great, exept when italic text are shown, it also show the formattingcode: < i>Italic text> /i> (ignore the space in the code, only made so it will show up as non code in this forum) But the text is not formatted in italic style. What format should be used, to ensure italic, bold and whatever type of formatting there can be in a textfile? It's annoying to see the code infront and after the text, with no formatting at all. It remain a standard text. I rather ask you, in case you know, instead of using hours and hours of tests, that doesn't work. Side question: What to name 2nd title, if more than 1 textfile is needed? so to shorten the questions down: 1: When burning .AVI files onto a DVD, what format must the subtitles be in, to show properly with right coding (italic, bold, underline etc.) 2: If a 2nd subtitle is needed/preferred, what name should that have, to be selectable in submenu on DVD player? Remember, it's a standard DVD player with DivX support (Luxor), and not to be played on the PC. Thanks alot in advance
If it doesn't support formating for textsubs, then the best you could do is remove it. For multiple subtitles movie.eng.srt, movie.ger.srt, etc. should work although I don't think such things are defined in DivX specs so they are bound to vary from player to player. DivX specs defined subtitles are xsubs. These are bitmap based so you can have itallic, etc. formating. You just need to use something to convert the subs and remux to .divx. Multiple subtitles shouldn't be a problem either.
Thanks alot for your reply. Ok, so I need to convert either the original .vob file(s) into bitmap, or convert .srt into bitmap texts. I will play around with it, and try find a solution. When/if I do, I will make sure to tell you how I did it. Thanks for fast reply.
