ok so if i change it to mpeg it will work on dvd players. If so do i change it to mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 or doesn't it matter.

It is more than just the type of video file encoding. DVD compliancy also involves how files are structured and the manner in which the DVD is structured. That's why you must use a DVD authoring program of some type. Another easy to use program to do the conversion I didn't mention above is Intervideo's DVD Copy 4 which is a commercial program with a free trial period.

    In NeroVision:
    Select Make a DVD video
    Add the AVI files
    Make a menu if desired
    Burn

I have found that a program called DVDsanta works, it will convert any type of file to dvd format very easially but it takes the length of the movie. it is a pay program but i just got the torrent and cracked it!

fyi: Every DVD you burn MUST have its files in a folder called VIDEO_TS. This is part of the DVD structure & your files won't work w/out it. Some DVDs also have an AUDIO_TS folder, which may have files in it OR may be empty
Commons files in the VIDEO_TS folder include:
    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VIDEO_TS.VOB

other files might be named as VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_0.VOB, etc. This depends on the disc, its not universal (i think)

Remember: Burn @2X or 4X if possible, use good media (Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim are the best), and close all non-ESSENTIAL programs.

    Good luck on your project

ConvertXtoDVD is the best software to use! All you need to do (to get rid of that pesky watermark) is buy it. Done deal. The best thing about it, it gives you a year full of free updates!
