Hi everyone, I'm looking for a [bold]new[/bold] powerful, but fairly inexpencive PC. I'll have anywhere from $1500 - $2000.(USD) I first thought of Best Buy, but then maby it would be better to build one. I am looking for a AMD dual core prosseser. I don't know what the numbers mean after the X2. The higher the better I'm guessing... Two gb memory? I think... Don't know what video card or sound card I would need to play some of the newer games. I would like a really cool looking case. (lights, windows, exc.) And thats all I really have as guidelines. Can you guys tell me what elce I need and how to get it? Thanks for [bold]any[/bold] help!
Hi, I just bought a new PC with your specifications and will be putting it together tomorrow hopefully. I will let you know how well it performs after I test it out. IT cost around 2000 dollars with many high performance parts. It may be two days from now when I post the results. It would deffinately be better to build it yourself.
Here is a list of the stuff bought for the computer, I do not want to say buy it untill I have tested it out. I know its the not type of case you are looking for but its what I bought. motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130484 processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103544 RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227210 Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129155 Hard Drive(two of them for 500GB with no raid) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144701 Light Scribe DVD burner http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827106019 DVD Reader http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827106029 You made need ethernet Cable or wireless card 19" LCD monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824001066 Video Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102642 Ordered this video card because computer will be used for video editing, you could get another one with same specs since you are not video editing and probably save some money Heat Sink http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835185001 Keyboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823175103 Mouse Will buy local after testing himself for comfort reasons OS If you do not own it you will have to buy it
I have it running and it is VERY FAST with a AMD X2 3800+. For some reason it will not boot with the 4800+ but i am trying to figure it out.
Get this LCD monitor instead. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824014111 It is cheaper, better response time, and comes with DVI cable.
The motherboard needed a bios update to recognize the AMD X2 4800+. To update the bios i had to use my AMD X2 3800+ CPU so the computer would boot. I have not used the 4800+ yet on the computer, but with the 3800+ the computer was already FAST!
