not worried about that at all, need to change it for other reasons, since it is dynamic not static i thought it would be rather easy to do, thought i remembered back when i had a reg dsl modem i just had to turn it off and on.

Even though they (Cable internet company) say its dynamic, I held the same IP for over 7 years. When I switched routers, my IP address changed. Strange, huh? No matter how many times you power cycle the router, it will always pick up the same IP. Your ISP recognizes the MAC id of your router and just reissues you the same IP.

New router should = New IP
