Burning games on HD. All discs or just play discs?

    Would i back up all of my discs; Install disc or just the play discs? If i wanted to play them later? New to this and just need a little nudge in th right direction.. I'm trying to write Civilization 4 on to the HD and the play disc works just fine but the install disc is all read errors..
