Hey. I never set a stereo up before, and need some help...I have an old receiver (I probably should get a new one), and I tried to hook it up to my new tv. Well...my tv has no audio outputs. I also am using a console selector for all my consoles + dvd player. So does that mean I have to run the audio from the selector into the receiver? Also, I want to hook my computer audio up to the receiver, too, so I can listen to my mp3's. What cables would I need to run from my comp? Hey, thanks all.

On a side note, any suggestions on a receiver I should buy?

Got an e-mail from my brother with the exact same question just last week.

A couple of things we need to know first:

    1. What's your budget?
    2. What speakers do you have at the moment? Sometimes a receiver upgrade may require a speaker upgrade.

You can usually run all your equipment through your receiver and use it as a selector.

To hook up you PC's sound card to your receiver you may need this:
