Hi! I currently have 1 stick of 256mb pc400 DDR memory. I'm planning to add 1 stick of 1gb since i have 2 DIMM slots. Does it necessarily have to be the same brand? Thanks!
To be on the safe side, yes, go with the same brand. There are those whom I know who mix brand names but it depends on your motherboard and the RAM itself if they will work compatibly. You can have issues. What motherboard do you have?
