I found this step by step guide on ebay on a FREE way to accomplish this on for iPod also PSP. I found it very easy to use and now I have over 30 high qualtiy DVD's on my iPod that can also play on my PSP. What i liked most about it is that there were about 8 clicks total, to ensure the quality and best of all NO SOFTWARE LICENSEs to purchase. uses only FREEWARE.

Loved it, so thouht u might too.

get the guide here.

Only a jerk comes to a forum trying to sell a guide to use freeware. Don't do it again.

Hi guys
I got my ipod video today and followed the steps in the original post only to find the converted file, when loaded into the 'movies' section of my Itunes won't upload to my Ipod. Why?

I've managed to get one video on there so far, a video I purchased on Itunes music store. The new file is converted to MP4 so I'm a bit confused as to what's going on.

Thanks

Oh and I also did 'convert selection to Ipod' for some files already in my Movie section and it transferred over but there's no audio on it. So what's up with that?

@sithius,
1) check whether or not you can play the converted mp4 file with Quicktime Player
2) Shorten the mp4 files' name and try to drag into iTunes again. iTunes supports not well for long name file.
How to add mp4 files to iTunes & iPod: drag it into your iTunes library, or select 'Add File to Library' from the 'File' menu and select the encoded movies. Then load the MP4 files to iPod by clicking 'File -> Update iPod'.
Another, Which software did you used to convert DVD to iPod or videos to iPod mp4/h.264?

Does Cucu software "rip" commercial DVDs? I own alot of DVDs and would like to put them on my ipod video. I convert DVDs for my own personal use. I think it is legal.

I'm giving up on this... some of my movies end up being in French, others end up being in Spanish.. Others the voice and the motion picture are 5 seconds apart... This is TOO MUCH work to get a damn movie into my iPod.

Which version are you using to rip your DVDs. You can choose the audio track (lauguage) before converting.

So far it hasn't been confirmed from Apple, so it's only a rumour for now, but after seeing what they did with the iPhone, I think that it may be truth.

Nebiyu, I use DeFab Platnum primarly for ripping DVDs. It does have a set of mobile utilities to output the video to ipod or PSP. It is a paid for software but you do get what you pay for. It might be the best paid for ripper and the ipod utility is fine. I would recommend this if you are having problems. What I do not like is there are no settings for the ipod output except for location. However the more complex processes have more opportunity for problems. To do exactly what I want I have to resort to use the main movie or customize options burn to video files and use a utility mentioned in this thread about a year ago. It converts video files to ipod videos.

[removed] All you need is DVD(video) to ipod Converter and DVD(video) to zune Converter. If you have any question feel free to ask. If you don't like this approach, there are other programs.
