CPU may be too low to handle Oblivion 'out of the box'.
I have a thread here helping people to play the game
    without having the recommended hardware.

    Recommended:
3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
    1 GB System RAM
ATI X800 series, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card

thanks for the reply, but on dell websites the best laptops for gamming only has 2.16 duo core cpu, i was told that those would be able to handle games like half life 2 with no prb. Even tho the cpu ghz is slower, wont it still be able to run games really well, just like how amd has slower ghz.

    thanks again.

    Dell doesnt make 'gaming' computers.
Your setup is BELOW the recommended requirements.
Goto Bethesda's website and download the config tool.
Download and run it will tell you the same thing...
Oblivion isnt Hl2 its requirments are higher,
Because of all the 'next gen' effects.
Why else would it be on the xbox 360?
