Linux on a playstation 2

is there a way to get any distribution of linux on a playstation 2 or do i need the "your outta luck cuz its not made anymore for the u.s." linux kit?

 

Yeah, you need the kit, since it's the only Linux that was written for the ps2.

 

do know by chance if there is a site that has the software from the kit available for download?

 

Nope, and even if i would, it'd do you no good, since i couldn't give you the link anyway.
Besides, it's not that great anyway, and unless you feel the need to run Linux on every system you own, it isn't worth the effort.
