DVD43 had been working fine, but it has frozen on the devil face and reports 'DVD matches drive region. Use key exchange to get title key(s)'.

I can't uninstall it via control panel as it says dvd43 is still running. I do the run 'regedit' thing (as suggested in a past post) to try to uninstall it that way and I can't find DVD43 anywhere in the directory. Where could it be? Any help here?

    Thanks for any help.

Did you Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get the Windows Task Manager. If it's still running it should show up there. When you find it, kill it, and never let it on your computer again. It is an evil program.

If that fails, reboot to safe mode and uninstall it from there.

I would have done that at the earliest possible moment. That little app had my PC messed up with windows opening up unexpectedly. It does strange things sometimes. It's no where as good as it's retail counterpart AnyDVD.

I have figured out how to get rid of devil smiley face. Do a system restore at a point say a week before. Then as soon as the computer restarts be down where the smiley is with your coursor. Right click as the tray is still loading. And close it real quick. Then go to control panel and uninstall from there. I had the devil smile there i couldn't shut down restart or msconfig to change the startup of it nothing was working. But this finally worked for me. just thought i would pass it along.

    Aloha all!

This devil-smiley-face dude! Did it definitely come from DVD43?

What would it show up as in "Control Panel" --> "Add/Remove Programs?"

Mahalo, in advance, for your help!
