Hi all..... Another weirdy! due to a trojan (Generic Downloader AB) which I had a nightmare in removing and compatibility issues with Power Producer 5 from Cyberlink which ultimately disabled my sound on the laptop altogether I removed Power producer and a heck of a lot of codecs off my system and replaced them with the latest codec pack from Cole 2K Media. A log story but I reckon a shared .dll knackered my sound! I now find Nero 6 is working more or less as expected but a few days back I needed to rip some .wav files from a teaching CD to mp3 so my student can play them back on his pc and slow down the speed of the files - something you seemingly cannot do with .wav files in MP10. I tried to copy the .cda's from the cd using both the above mentioned tools but to no avail. Nero suddenly did not like .cda encoded .wav's. Had to resort in the end to using ImToo MP3 ripper. Anyone got any idea why this might be happening?... have tried finding a .cda plugin for Nero but seemingly there aint noe around. As always would appreciate your feedback Thanks in advance!
One thing about Nero is that when something bad happens, you often need a clean uninstallation and reinstallation of the program to get things back to normal, and many people have experienced lots of problems doing that. Anyway, for ripping cds, I use and recommend Audiograbber, a free, super fast, and marvellous program: http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/ I usually rip with Audiograbber, then burn with Nero Burning Rom. Good luck with Nero!
