just as long as your camera has a firewire output and your pc has a firewire input. you can use windows movie maker to help in the transfer, there are probably better softwares out there for this but this is the only one i've used so far.

I have a ZR 70 and sometime use it as a converter. I dont know if the 60 has a firewire port? I have my video source (TV,VCR,etc)
going into the ZR 70 via the rca video and audio cables. Then have it going out Firewire into my pc. I use "MyDvD" to capture the digital, yes I said digital becuase the Zr converts analog to Digital.
Then burn it right to DVD. Works perfectly everytime. There is a setting in the cam that you will need to switch to get analog in and firewire out.

so the ZR 70 has analog input? thats great! you avoid using a capture card. I'll keep this if i ever get a camcorder.

yup yup, 70 has firewire, analog and USB. You can only use USB to get the stills off though. There is a setting in the menu to switch firewire and analog from in to out and vice versa.

I found this in google images

the two connections on the left are USB, the middle is a 6 pin Firewire port and the right one is a 4 pin firewire port.

Make sure you know which port your camcorder has (if any) before purchasing a firewire cable, most have a 4 pin port. If your pc has a 4 pin input then you would need a 4pin-4pin cable. if your pc has a 6 pin port then you'd need a 4-pin-6pin cable.
