Maxtor one touch II locked

    Need help unlocking a Maxtor one touch II HD

    I guess I'll ask before someone else does...What do you mean by locked?

    The Maxtor One Touch II has a security password to access the drive and I forgot the password,

    i have one of them,i never installed the software that came with it...
    as it was not needed to use the drive.
    try uninstalling the software..then reinstall and see if then ye can put in a new password

    or try it on another computer with out installing the software..

    I try that already, without the software my pc can’t recognize the drive,
