I have an HP DVD writer 740e and its not functioning at all. I would put a black cd or black dvd in the drive and when pressing burn or nero, or windows media player, or press write with the recording wizard it would constantly say that there is no disc in the drive. When i put in a cd( like a program instalation cd) nothing would happen and when i click on the drive icon it says to please insert a cd into the drive... what is the problem? can u please help me because i need to burn a dvd urgently.. thanks in advance
Did you install the drive yourself? Is this the only disc drive in your computer? Are the master/slave settings correct? Does the drive show in My Computer and in Device Manager? Are there any yellow "?" or "!" showing in device manager beside the drives? Is your ASPI installed and working properly? Run Nero InfoTool and post the log, this will answer alot of question to help you.
