You don't have a firewall or an antivirus on your computer. Download and install one firewall and one antivirus. These are good (free) firewalls: ZoneAlarm --> http://www.zonelabs.com Kerio--> http://www.sunbelt-software.com/Kerio.cfm Outpost-> http://www.agnitum.com These are good (free) antiviruses: AVG Antivirus --> http://www.grisoft.com Avast --> http://www.avast.com Ok, you got some infections.... Cleaning instructions: Update your Ewido, don't run a scan yet. Ok, good, you're clean now But your Windows and Internet Explorer are outdated and have all kinds of vulnerabilities. Go to here and update your system -> http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate
hi thanks very much for your help. However, since i've conducted your recommended actions I can not access some pages on the internet. I try to access a page, it processes, it states that it has 'done' but just shows a blank white screen. This is also what occurs when I try to access the microsoft update link u posted. Has this got anything to do with the compatibility between my internet service provider and the firewall i downloaded? My ISP is aol and the firewall is the zone alarm one that you recommended. in addition i have downloaded the avast 4 anti virus and ewido. thanks for your help!!!
hi, thanks again. I've tried that link but i'm having the same problem. It's just a blank white screen. why is this happening?why does this happen for some web pages but not others? please help
Hi mdoddy. Hmm, maybe it is in the Internet Explorer settings... Try if the same thing happens with Mozilla Firefox browser -> http://www.mozilla.com Can you remember the addresses of the sites that aren't working?
