I teach school and wanted to show my class a dvd movie using the computer projector. Everything was in order, you could view the computer on the screen, however, the moment I turned the dvd on the screen blacked out. I could watch the movie on my laptop screen, but not on the screen I was projecting onto. Does anyone know why?

are you playing the movie in the computer disk drive or are you using a VCR/DVD player hooked up through a capture card?

I was playing the dvd movie on the computer using WinDVD. I could see the movie on the laptop screen, but could it would not display on the computer projector. When I use the computer projector for PowerPoint, etc. it worked fine. Just before I began to play the dvd, it worked fine. When the movie started, I could see the mouse pointer on a blacked out screen coming through the computer projector. The movie was playing on the laptop, however.
