Ok i've searched through the forums for some advice but i can't find anything! I've got a modified GC with qoob SX, an Sd card adaptor for my GC, and a broadband adaptor for my GC. I've recently lost my Super Smash Bros. Melee save file which had all the characters etc unlocked. I don't want to play through again so how can i copy save games from my PC to my GC? With the equipment i've got i should be able to but i don't know how! I've downloaded something called CTR-GC or whatever its called but i don't know what to do with it. Is there a detailed tutorial somewhere? I've managed to link my PS2 up with my PC no probs but there seems to be a lack of tutorials on how to do it with a GC. I would also like to run emulators on my GC but first i want the save games sorted! Can anyone help?
1) Do you know how to stream from your GC to your PC and vice versa? 2) If you have the SD card adaptor for your cube, why don't you just pop the card into your PC and download the saves off it? CTR-GCS has absolutely no worthy support for any card type beyond the first-party Nintendo original format cards. If you're using an SD adaptor, just plug it into your PC and move the files as needed. Simplest, sanest way.
Hi thanks for u're response. Firstly i'm not sure how to stream from PC to GC and vice versa. I've read u need PSO for this which i haven't got and i don't really want to buy if possible. Is there another way of streaming? If there is, is there a guide or tutorial around anywhere? Secondly i didn't think the SD card adaptor could be used as a memory card. I thought it was for games such as animal crossing etc. If this is true then i still need to link my PC up with my GC. You mentioned streaming between the two do you mean streaming games across? All i really want is a homebrew app on my Qoob gamecube that links up the to the PC via the BBA and allows you to copy data to the memory cards etc. I have this setup on my PS2 where i can copy games across to the hard drive and change the contents of the memory cards from my PC.
If it's the SD card adaptor I'm thinking of, it fits in the memory card slot and holds an SD card, right? If so, then you just pull the SD card out and put it in a PC-based card reader and you're set. Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with mod chips, but I can stream like a pro, using PSO. Beyond that, I'm afraid I can't help out. :/
Again thanks for the quick response. I've tried putting saves on an mmc card before and then slotting that into my SD card adaptor and then into my Gamcube but nothing happened. This maybe because of the fact my card was MMC and not SD. I'll try an SD card on monday when i get back home (i'm away for the weekend.) Have you had any experience with the SD card adaptor. Someone told me once they don't work for save games and that i must ust a USB memory card (which i don't want to buy because i have two 64mb ones already!)
Sorry, no experience with that either. I've been fairly vanilla with my gamecube. Mostly waiting for the Wii to launch, at this point, so I've given up on the little black box of mine.
