I got spyfalcon on my computer and the second i saw it i began to uninstall it which i think was bad. I have read many forums and how-tos to get rid of it but i cant. the spyfalcon program is gone but the task bar pop-up remains. it has completely prevented me from opening ewido and hijackthis to help remove it and they were not already on my computer. I have the smitfraudfix but it says everything has been removed or the registry is clean. i have no idea what to do! help please! I can easily add the logfile for the smitfraud fix if needed.

    Hi fwcc

    Do this:

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
[*]If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
[*]Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
[*]Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
[*]Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
[*]Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
    [*]Login on your usual account.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #4 - Generic Renos Fix by typing 4 and press Enter.
The program will scan and fix the Registry and delete corresponding infected files on your computer, please be patient while it works.
The tool will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.
    Reboot in Normal Mode.

    There's one bad guy left(at least ;).

Fix with HjT (open HijackThis, click do a system scan only, checkmark this and press fix checked):

    O2 - BHO: Nothing - {f79fd28e-36ee-4989-aa61-9dd8e30a82fa} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hpC16B.tmp (file missing)

Follow these instructions carefully -> http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item9

After that, post the contents of C:\msnvirrem.log along with a fresh HijackThis log

Ok, I can now open HijackThis and it STAYS open (before it would open for a maximum of 3 seconds.. had to work quick!) and followed your steps, and it seems to be totally gone! No more pop-up virus warning, HijackThis can be opened, I can load home pages for Ewido and HijachThis... I can't think of any other problems, but it seems to be cured! Your thoughts?
Again, thank you so much for your time and effort!!!
