lg l 1930s monitor dotty banding

    i keep getting a dotty banding on my monitor screen on a white screen it shows as tiny red dots on a dark blue screen they show as a lighter blue colour in about 5cm blocks around the screen they are not always in the same place but move around when new pages are opened, I havn't changed any settings on my graphics card set at default or monitor settings.

    try that monitor on another computer & another monitor on this computer to see if problem follows monitor or stays with computer. is videocard onboard or in a slot?

    You Radeon is going belly up. Contact ATI, if it is still under warranty. They replaced mine, and it cost me nothing except the postage to send the bad one to them.

    just a bit more to add don't get problems when in safe mode, 3d mark 2001 se runs ok and problem seems to occur when a info box or menu is opened over the desktop when the box is closed it leaves an area of dots were the box was.

    try updating the videocard driver as appears to be software problem not hardware but also try the card in another computer to make certain.
