How come when ever I try to re-install Nero 7. It says that it cannot write in folder Nero7.tmp. It says that I need Admin privilages but I am an Admin. I tryed Nero Clean Tool but that terminates when it starts. It says that it had a problem with folder RS2D or something like that. I deleted all the Ahead an Nero folders on my computer and uninstalled everything and ran CCleaner.

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

    I'm running XP Pro
    Pentium 4HT 2.7Ghz

Run this clean tool,http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.htm and try again. PLEASE do NOT install version 7.2.0.3 or 7.2.0.3b, they are "buggy", if you are installing from a download then try this one http://www.filehippo.com click on Nero 7.2.0.3 and then select 7.0.8.2 for a bug free version

All I can suggest is that you repeat the process.

I think if you use windows explorer and find that Nero temp folder, then right click on it and go to properties tab. There is a "Sharing" tab and a "Security" tab. Click on these and cick on "allow sharing" and the Security tab might have something you can add yourself to. Give that a try. Im at work, so i cant post a pic of this.
I use XP Home edition at home, and i couldnt find the same settings i saw on the work computers. It has a sharing and security tab, but i dont see the same options i saw on the network compters at work.

right now i'm using WinTools.net to remove every Nero & Ahead thing in my drive hopefully this will work.
    i'll reply if it does.

P.S. that Nero Clean Removal Tool does not work 4 sh*t. every time i started it up it would go for about 25% then terminate i have no idea y, it just did.

I've been having the same problem trying to install Nero7
" Installation cannot create necessary temporary files in folder '....\Temp\NeroDemo####\Cab\Tmp'. Please check if you have permission for this folder." for weeks until now. Clean out the system as mentioned by previous members.
If you are like me and Hard Drive space is a problem (never enough!) you have probably have an NTFS partion with Compress drive to save disk space checked. To overcome the Nero7 installation problem, Decompress the windows environment Temp folder.
    Here are some steps to help;

    Step:
    1) Click the Window's Start Button
    2) Click Run...
    3) In the Open box type %Temp%
This will open your current temp directory used for the windows environment
    4) Note the folder name in the Address bar and then click the icon "Up"
    5) Select that folder and right click, then Properties
    6) In the Properties folder click Advanced...
    7) Deselect "Compress contents to save disk space"
    8) Click "OK", then "Apply",
    9) Then click "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files"
If you have any problems with the changes just click "Ignore All" and then OK.
    10)Reinstall Nero7

    And that's it.

If it still doesn't work, Select and apply "Compress contents to save disk space" then deselect it again and apply to make sure.
In future it is advised to keep this folder uncompressed to prevent this problem with other software too.

Hope it helps you out. It is my first post so I hope it is clear enough for all interested.

alright i decompressed my entire HDD but when it installs it asks to reboot, i reboot and nothing happens.

Ive tried to install around 12 times and still the same thing.
No errors appear it just doesnt install.

    What should i do?

Thanks the_rket1 the problem was the compression thing, but it wasnt just that!

    I'll keep trying!!!

    the_rket1 is absolutely correct.

I had Nero 7.0.1.4b installed on WinXP Pro using fat32 and had also tried the latest version successfully.

I bought a new computer with XP Home using NTFS (compressed) and after trying 5 different builds of Nero 7 and getting the same "Installation cannot create necessary temporary files in folder" I started to get fed up.

Nero 6 WILL install on a compressed NTFS folder but Nero 7 will NOT, however Nero 7 WILL install in an UNCOMPRESSED folder on an NTFS filesystem.
It appears that there is a problem with the Nero setup program on ALL versions of Nero 7 as it will NOT write the temporary files to the "...\Temp\NeroDemo####\Cab\Tmp" directory if it is in a compressed folder.

So the simple solution is to do as the_rket1 says and right click your "...Temp" directory and uncompress it.

I can only wonder at how the Nero programmers can produce such a magnificent piece of software as Nero and appear to lack the ability to write what should be a simple installer!!

Thanks for sharing the temp folder access problem. I have this thread linked now so anyone getting that problem on a nero 7 install can just come here (when i point them to it). I would ask that this thread be stickied, but the thread title would probably need to be changed. And many ppl ignore stickies.
    Good Job everyone!!! :)
