    Hi folks.

I have an Acer Aspire 3500 with dvd/cd rw. My problem is playing DVDs on my computer. The program that came with the laptop is Acer Arcade which up until now has been working like a charm. I found myself a while ago unable to play my 'Mr and Mrs Smith' DVD at all. I needed to play it using WMP which is of poorer quality. Any ideas?

Also, up until about a week ago I was able to play 'The Longest Yard' 2005 with no problems but now the program won't activate if the DVD is in the drive. I have tried to use WMP but it too freezes. Help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Do u have any type of virtual drive. It sounds to me like you're having a conflict of issues. Maybe u need to reinstall your dvd drive. Personally, I use PowerDvd made by Cyberlink. Great program 4 watching movies. Give me sum more info, and I'll help the best I can.

If I had any clue what a virtual drive was then I would be happy to tell you. The computer came fully loaded and the only software I have added was anti virus and that was immediately after purchasing the laptop. I have no problem watching any other DVDs with the ARCADE software. I thought that it might have been a security feature of the Mr and Mrs Smith DVD but I could initially watch 'The Longest Yard'. I am a technological neophite!
