Hi, I was hoping someone could help me out. I added a second hard drive to my old computer to strictly use for holding all my music files (Mp3)

Now I got a new computer and I wanted to take that second drive out and put it in the new computer, but does that mean I need to format the drive again and in turn lose all my files? Or can I add it as is to the new pc?

I could back up all the files but that would waste about 6 or 7 DVDr's :(

I have Windows XP on both computers (I think home edition)
    A
    ny advice?

Hi Greenpaw, If I read your post right, the mp3 hard drive is a secondary slave to your main HD. If this is the case, just install it the same way in the new PC and you should be good to go. No need to format. Your new PC should see it and let you access it as before. The windows system is on your primary HD so the second one has no effect on it. Good luck.

Thanks! I'll give it a try

The only other thing you may have to do is transfer any special player software to the new PC if you are using one. Other than that it should be no problem at all.
