I have been using DVDShrink3.2 and Nero 6.3 to copy my dvds now all of sudden, DVDShrink still reads the files ok but when it tranfers over to nero to burn them, nero always spits my blank disks out and says an error has occurred and has failed to burn. I have not changed anything, have even bought the same disks that I have already burnt about 30 dvds onto but now i can get nero to burn. have uninstalled and re-installed both DVDShrink and Nero but no luck. attaching a log from nero - Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.57 (1008), size=48128 bytes, created 23/12/1997 12:23:24 PM ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 2/11/2004 1:54:32 PM NT-SPTI used Nero API version: 7.2.0.3 Using interface version: 6.3.1.4 Installed in: C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\ Application: ahead\Nero - Burning Rom Internal Version: 7, 2, 0, 3 Recorder: <ATAPI DVD RW 16XMax> Version: 2.10 - HA 1 TA 0 - 7.2.0.3 Adapter driver: <IDE> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ? === Scsi-Device-Map === DiskPeripheral : HDS728080PLAT20 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : ATAPI DVD RW 16XMax atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === ATAPI DVD RW 16XMax D: CDRom0 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 66060288 (0) Byte BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 447MB (458220kB) Free physical memory: 18MB (18880kB) Memory in use : 95 Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 26.5.2006 NeroAPI 8:10:07 AM #1 Phase 112 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 278 DVD-Video files reallocation started 8:10:07 AM #2 Phase 114 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 278 DVD-Video files reallocation completed (no file modified) 8:10:07 AM #3 Phase 111 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 278 DVD-Video files sorted 8:10:08 AM #4 Text 0 File ThreadedTransfer.cpp, Line 531 ReadBuffer-Pipe got 262144KB of Memory 8:10:08 AM #5 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 124 Reader running 8:10:08 AM #6 Text 0 File Writer.cpp, Line 113 Writer D: ATAPI DVD RW 16XMax running 8:10:08 AM #7 Text 0 File AudioCompilationImpl.cpp, Line 842 DRM: StartDrmRecording(RealRec:1, ImageRec:0, Copies:1) DRM: Beginning burn process. 8:10:08 AM #8 ISO9660GEN -11 File Geniso.cpp, Line 3312 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 8:10:08 AM #9 ISO9660GEN -11 File Geniso.cpp, Line 3312 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 8:10:08 AM #10 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3365 Turn on Disc-At-Once, using DVD media 8:13:17 AM #11 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 289 Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB) Last address to be written: 2286143 (508:01.68, 4465MB) 8:13:17 AM #12 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 301 Write in overburning mode: NO 8:13:17 AM #13 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 2715 Recorder: ATAPI DVD RW 16XMax, Media type: DVD-R Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. @Gwen..... what does [bold]KEY_HARDWARE_ERROR[/bold] mean? looked up in other forums and most say it's the drive going bad. what do you think?
Nero 7.2.0.3 is throwing up all kind of errors, usually if the process I outlined is followed these errors seem to disappear. I will look that error up and get back to you. I know it appears in quite a few logs that I look at, I ignore it because normally updating, Nero or firmware seems to eliminate it...thats only my experience. Cheers.
well....... in other forums this error comes up for people that tried to update their firmware..... at least that's what I seen in a few forums and just assumed this! I can't believe that sooooooooo many errors are happening with a full new version of Nero (7.2.03b or what ever!) I hardly use it anymore! I even got an error on a copy of a copy! I wanted to copy an RW disk to a +R taiyo yuden disk and Nero got caught up! I used Blindwrite and it worked flawlessly! My evaluation of this version of Nero..... [bold]it sucks![/bold]
My opinion of it is much worse than that, nearly every log file posted concerns 7.2.0.3...a new one is Buffer overflow...but there's far too many so I recommend this, all I do now is paste this, saves me typing in every log. hey borisbear what are your pc stats? under resourced pc's seem to be the go these days or over use while trying to burn. can you do a ctrl+alt+del for me and then look at the next screen that pops open and in the left bottom corner tell us how many processors are running. Currently you have squat memory to do anything, so i'm not surprised that you have issues burning. If you want to keep doing this you will eventually have a burner that wont work or a pc due to the strain you are putting on them.It takes memory to keep evrything going at optimun capacity but if you have other programns running then your pc has to allocate an even amount of memory to keep the processors functioning. A temporay might be to increase your ram to 1024 and get a better processor guy
I got the task manager up and it tells me 41 processes are running. is this too many? i'm not up with all the tecnical stuff. please help
sorry, have been out of town, so just read your thread 10 mins ago.thanks for the feedback, have just cleaned out nero and am going to hippo site now, as i have been away, havent got any better quality disks but will try once i have the alt version of nero. bare with me, i'm only up with the basics, really appreciate the help.
Go directly to this site for 7.0.8.2 http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845 it will take you straight there, Cheers.
