My Plextor 716A has decided to quit reading DL DVDs burned on a Lite-On DVD-DL burner. It'll record fine and read what it recorded itself. It'll also read DLs recorded from a Plextor 740. It'll read regular DVDs recorded on about anything.

Since it's out of warranty and has given me good service, I think it's time to move on. I'm looking at a Pioneer DVR-111D. Anyone have any experience with this unit?

    Thanks!

Your plextor as you may well know is a Cadillac. Make sure that your firmware is up to date...also what brand media are you using and how fast are you burning?

I've never tried a Pioneer drive, but hear they are good drives. I would lean towards BenQ right now as they seem to be on top of thier game...1650/1655.

My media is both Verbatim and TY. The firmware is at 1.08 now. I had to flash back from 1.09 because at 1.09, it wouldn't read any DVD-RW media at all and had trouble with burned CDs.
