ok. so i got the parts for a new computer...CPU, motherboard, memory, graphics card...i know all of them work. So i tried to put in the harddrive. for some reason, everytime it boots up, after i installed the operating system, it goes to this screen and says "finding and establishing link" and then "media drive test failed" or something similar. it doesn't detect the harddrive. but its plugged in correctly. my dad set it up. i have used this entire set before, then used it for another computer and then my dad gave it back so i could make my own, but now it doesn't work? any ideas? i've tried 3 harddrives but none of them work so i assume its something else

mby your IDE cables are messed up..or jumppers try fiddling with them, meaby a slave is connected into a master and the jumpers are set funky, hope it helps.. alos, the "media drive test failed" sounds like something internal on its basic OS is wroung, if that dosent work try connecting inot a friends comp with same HD thats what i do sometimes.
