DVD drive not updating

    i have a problem where my dvd drive dosent update its contents i have a dvd in it and put in another but it still thinks the first one is in there. ive looked around and most places say get rid of the upper and lower classes in registry i tried that but it still dosent work i also tried a reinstall of windows didnt work either it wouldnt bother me but a multi cd app and it cant find the second cd when i try to install it it has also seemed to spread to my daemon tools virtual drive the drive which started it is a SONY DDU1612 then it spread to my PIONEER DVR-107D
    (i posted here cause it started on dvd-rom then spread to burner)

    Try this. First unmount the virtual drive. Using Device Manager, uninstall both drives. Run a registry repair program, twice . Reboot and allow windows to reinstall the drives. Test them and if everything is OK. Reinstall the virtual drive as the last step.

    just about to post i fixed it when you posted i did the same basic thing you said and it worked
