Hey guys, I want to build a PC sometime this summer. My budget is $600 with shipping. I don't have a preference between AMD or Intel. I will use it for stuff like homework as I am in highschool, downloading music, maybe backing up dvds if I can ever figure it out. Not much gaming. I just want something that can run without lag while running multiple applications like: AIM, Limewire, Internet Explorer, Word, Spyware/Virus protection, printer software all at the same time. I have keyboard, monitor, disk drives, speakers. So far i've come up with this: Mobo: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=249016 $85 Proc: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80851 $195 Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231050 $80 + $5 (shipping) = $85 HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822135106 $46+ $5 (shipping) = $51 Video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814127207 $93 + $5 (shipping) = $98 Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119068 $45 + $18 (shipping) = $63 PSU: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=370565 $35 In total: $612 Let me know what you guys think!
What do you guys think about this case? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811103006
Thats nice, I would go with the AMD setup more bang for your buck plus your on a budget so you should go AMD. I built my comp for about 600$ a a year ago and its about the same. Nice choice on everything else though. The Intels fine, i would just go AMD.
I like that last case, that fan is nice, but it looks like its loud and might get dusty in there, but its nice though.
