I recently purchased a x-fi platinum extreme music sound card. I had been using WMP 10 for my mp3s and WMPclassic for my video. Now when I installed my sound card it installed creative's media player, but I started to have problems with the audio. I tried to uninstall the player but my WMP10 and classic stopped working. So yesterday, I went and followed the codec instructions in the sticky thread in this forum and went into control panel > system > hardware, then to my audio and video codecs and deleted everything save for the one that windows said it couldn't operate without, right? Now I have no system sound (WTF!). The creative player now works great for most media and my WMP10 is running again but how do I get my system audio back on?
Here let me answer this question. Hey dumbass did you check that your sound scheme was set as windows default?!
Hey...thanks alot that worked just fine so I guess a guy should double check everything before writing a ten minute post? (DOH?!)
